About Foundation Audio
Foundation Profile and History
Foundation Audio began in 1979 when Cliff Stone introduced a single stem metal speaker stand in England.
This design, later known as the Foundation Classic, quickly became a benchmark in the audio world for its superior build quality, elegant finish and exceptional sound performance.
Audiophiles praised its ability to combine refined appearance with excellent acoustic control.
After two years of research, Cliff perfected the Foundation Formula Fill, a special blend of materials used inside the stands to reduce unwanted harmonics and absorb cabinet vibrations.
This innovation opened up the natural character of speakers without altering their sound and earned Accessory of the Year from the British FBA in 1985.
In 1996, Foundation Audio was acquired by Focus Audio, a high end loudspeaker manufacturer based in Markham, Ontario, Canada.
Cliff remained as an exclusive consultant and helped refine the original designs into the Classic II and Designer IIstands, which continue to outperform the original Classic and set new standards in speaker support.
Today
From our Canadian facility, Foundation Audio continues to design and manufacture premium loudspeaker stands and audio rack systems.
Every product reflects the same commitment to precision engineering and timeless design that has defined Foundation Audio for more than four decades.
